Bar cruise Port, with Global Ports Holding (GPH) majority owner, welcomed its first scheduled Thomson Celebration cruiser call today. MS Thomson Celebration operated by British company Thomson Cruises is 215 m long, 27 m wide and with cca 8 m draft. It brought 1.222 passengers and 550 crew members in Bar port.
Passengers of Thomson Celebration were welcomed by folk dance groups from Bar, “Saint Vladimir”, “Unity” and “Rumija”, organized by Bar Tourism Organization. Around 300 passengers attended shore excursions to discover Old Town of Bar, Skadar Lake and Saint Stefan. The rest of the passengers and crew enjoyed the beautiful town of Bar individually. At “Zero Kilometre” location, food tasting market with traditional products of local producers was organized. Also, on board the ship, exchange of plaques took place with representatives of Bar cruise port JSC, Municipality of Bar and Allegra Agency.
This is the second cruiser call in Bar port history after MS Berlin which in October 2014, also in organization of Global Ports Holding, marked the beginning of developing Bar as cruising destination. Until the end of 2016, Thomson Celebration cruiser has scheduled additional 6 calls to Bar Cruise Port with planned 8100 passengers.
With the development of cruise passenger terminal whose realization is expected in the future, the intention of company is to upgrade conditions for provision of cruiser services.
