Cruiser “Thomson Spirit” with 1219 passengers and 492 crew members was accepted for the fifth time today at the Pier 2 of Bar Cruise Port through Allegra Montenegro agency.
Ms. Tanja Novović, Cruise Coordinator in Bar Cruise Port stated: “In the cruise season 2017, this is the 8th cruiser that arrived to Bar. Compared to the previous year when Bar visited 8660 cruise tourists who came with company Thomson Cruises and their ship Thomson Celebration, this year, we have an increased number of passengers, increased number of call and increase in different cruise companies which directed their cruisers to Bar. We opened cruise season with accepting French mini cruiser La Belle De l’Adriatique and German Albatros. This season was marked by the sailing in of the largest cruiser ever calling "Norwegian Star" which brought 2,600 passengers from different parts of the world. The captain's observations and ratings are very significant regarding the simplicity of berthing, adequate draft and infrastructure, which once again confirms that Port of Adria has all the conditions for accepting ships and also newer class in accordance with international standards. Based on the 2018 and 2019 reservations, we can say that we expect a further increase in the number of passengers.
As part of a network of Global Ports Holding, a leading operator of cruise ports in the world, Bar Cruise Port uses the available infrastructure to promote Bar as cruise destinations.
This includes the presentation on the largest fairs that are organized annually in Barcelona and Miami, as well as know-how in providing necessary services to cruise ships and passengers who come to Bar through them. In past period we have organized visit of Bar and Montenegro for three global cruise companies and their representatives so they could personally experience the conditions in the harbor, and tourist attractions that may be of interest for travelers both in Bar, the surroundings, and in the hinterland. Our medium-term plan is that in period up to three years Bar visits around 100.000 passengers from cruise ships.
Because of arriving ship „Thomson Spirit“, the Company in copperation with Business start up center from Bar organized on King Nikola’s promenade the Fair of Manufectured goods were local and exibitors from Ulcinj, Podgorica and Niksic presented their offer to cruiser tourists.
