For the first time in the history of port activities in Bar, a passenger ship-cruiser was moored at the Pier II on October 11th 2014 at 6:30h. The ship is MS Berlin owned by a German company FIT. This 140-meter long ship with 183 crew members, brought 366 passengers who visited Old Town Bar, Old Olive Tree in Mirovica, Skadar Lake and vinery Šipčanik during their stay. In the afternoon, the ship continued its voyage to Taranto, Italy.
This historic moment was marked in line with local tradition. The representatives of the Port and Global Ports, Ms Nataša Dabanović and Mr Cihan Gulec with their associates visited the ship and presented captain Venetantis with a plaque and a welcome bouquet.Port employees, in close cooperation with the representatives of Port Authority, Harbour Master’s Office Bar, Customs Administration and Border Police, successfully provided complex logistic services to the passenger ship moored at the part of the port dedicated to commercial activities as well as safe transfer through the port area.
